Aside from performing, Ntrinsik continuously reaches out to local schools and communities through instruction and mentorship, in hopes of inspiring the future generation of artists. All four Co-Founders of Ntrinsik Movement provide instruction throughout the week to dancers in local public schools, and dance studios. Over the past two years the company has received opportunities to do Master Classes/Choreography Workshops with dancers from Dr. Susan S McKinney Secondary School of the Arts, Ronald Edmonds Learning Center MS 113, St. Joseph High School, Ebenezer Preparatory School, and Emmanuel Baptist Church. Ntrinsik is currently in the works of creating a Brooklyn based dance conference for high school and middle school dance majors.
Dance outreach is a very fulfilling experience for the company simply because we are able to give back to our former schools and other schools in the local NYC area. We also were able to use a few selected dancers from these dance workshops in two of our past concerts, which were held in Brooklyn at Center for Performance Research & Kumble Theater. These dancers received an opportunity to function as a junior company of Ntrinsik Movement, and gained professional performance experience. This year in April, these pre professional dancers will be performing as an extension of Ntrinsik Movement in a showcase they were selected for: New York Jazz Choreography Project at the Salvatore Capezio Theater.
This piece features pre- professional dancers from various dance studios
and public schools across the NY area.
